More astonishing is that it wasn't even the state's own in-house lawyers. This was Cooper & Kirk, really really NOT covering themselves in glory. I don't know how much money it would take to get me to make this argument, but I do know Florida doesn't have that much.
If Florida doesn’t have enough money, they can just underfund a few more libraries to make up the difference.
I'm wondering if the rationale for retaining the outside lawyers is documented. Or is it just because they are "birds of a feather"?
I'm desperately trying to put together a legal theory where I, as a Florida tax payer, can sue the current administration for doing things that are blatantly unconstitutional, but hoping it makes enough headlines people forget it got overturned, and end up costing millions in fees when they lose.
