I just never expected it. I expect it from everyone else. My law school classmates, attorneys I’ve worked with, lawtwitter, my law school counselor but not my family.

I have no experience with is generational family expectations (like family members doing the family business for example). Taking cheap shot bullshit because you don’t seem to fit for what your family has drilled into you just has so many layers to unpack here. I’m stuck with “fuck them.”
