I have to watch TAS to put this to the test but yeah I agree. Hell, I even think that dumb TNG episode where Beverly has a sex candle ghost is real Trek and it’s legitimately one of the most jarring narrative choices I can think of.

It just seems to me that the alternative to "all Trek is Good Trek" is internecine bickering, and Starfleet taught us better than that.
