A recent analysis by World Weather Attribution reveals that human-induced climate change has intensified autumn and winter storms in the #UK#Ireland, increasing rainfall by about 20%. This significant increase makes heavy rainfall events ten times more likely compared to pre-industrial times. 👇

The increase in UK rainfall is largely due to an increase in rain intensity, i.e. the amount that falls on wet days, rather than the number of wet days increasing. A recent study found that last winter had ~20% more rain because of climate change. www.worldweatherattribution.org/autumn-and-w...
