See, the thing is they don't have a choice. Companies might think they have the right to kill any property they want, but in practice they don't. Either they provide a legal way to access these games, or skilled people will provide a way.
Anyone in the games industry worried about free access to 25-30 year old games needs to stop and think about why their modern games suck so much that those would be any real competition to their sales.

It could be if we revised our copyright law to have more reasonable term limits.
An unjust law is no law at all.
If it's illegal, don't tell the cops.
