I want to know how to shift the SFF culture of striving for awards/acclaim toward striving for bettering craft instead. Idk, I feel like that's at the root of so much, people chasing attention and accolades instead of becoming a better artist/writer and contributing meaningful things to the world.

Newest clarkesworld novella coming out on Oct 1, it's probably my weirdest brainchild so far... if you all are like WTF did i read after ... i get it. it's going to feel like a nihilistic mathematical fever dream slash conspiracy theory ... it's a lot. i just had to write it

Contract is signed and sent, so Iā€™m thrilled to announce that Clarkesworld Magazine will be publishing my next mathfiction/science fiction novella, titled ā€œFractal Karmaā€! Knot theory, klein bottles, drugs and conspiracies. This one is pretty wild šŸ˜… Thanks @clarkesworldmagazine.com!!!

Thereā€™s something philosophically/poetically similar about early universe cosmology and embryonic development. The universe started as a singularity and we all, as interesting and complex as our brains are, started as a single cell.

Omg Axiom of Dreams got added to the Database of Mathematical Fiction!!! The database is run by a Professor of Algebraic Geometry. I got 5/5 for ā€œmathematical contentā€! šŸ¤“ kasmana.people.cofc.edu/MATHFICT/

Apart from one assignment I turned in late, Iā€™ve gotten 96-99 on all my Discrete Math problem sets/exams. Math seems like my jam, Iā€™m a little obsessed. Hopefully the final goes well, Karnaugh Maps can trip me up Signed up for Number Theory in the early summer šŸ¤“ then a vacation before my PhD lol

I ordered a sandwich based on a 5 star DoorDash review saying ā€œI ate this sandwich and met Godā€ ā€” I think there were bites that creaked open heavens gates a little, but the overall distribution of ingredients was firmly in purgatory. 3.5 stars

I've been monitoring the ups and downs of rebuilding subscriptions post-Amazon for the magazines that have been impacted. Unsurprisingly, it turns out that survival depends on us being more shameless. So... If you like what we do, maybe it's time to subscribe: clarkesworldmagazine.com/subscribe/
