Thread of books I've read or listened to in 2024. I always forget to make these and remember around April, but not this time! But be warned, this will be very sporadic; either a bunch of books at once or none for months. Not entirely sure how threads here work, but here goes nothing.

The Last of the Talons by Sophie Kim I basically listened to this when I was doing something and couldn't read the Gumiho book, that's why the posts are so close together. I wanted to know if I might like it as much as the Gumiho book because the German print version is gorgeous and

The God and the Gumiho by Sophie Kim When the hardcover book artist made a post about their art, this one caught my eye, especially because it had "gumiho" in the title. (I love any kind of Nine-Tailed Fox) One of my personal favourite genres of all time is supernatural investigation stories.

Die Erben von Camelot von Evelyne Aschwanden German language sapphic story set a century after (a modified) Arthurian Legend. Irgendwie war es anders als ich mir vorgestellt habe und ich hab nicht so damit gevibed wie erhofft. Leider. Ich kann aber nicht so ganz genau sagen, was mir

Dreadful by Caitlin Rozakis I feel like the summary tells already a lot of the vibe of the book and what it's about. The plot is reminiscent of fairy tales, but there's a humorous undertone and Gav struggles with his identity of Dark Wizard. It's like character growth

A Wizard's Guide to Defensive Baking by T. Kingfisher I thoroughly enjoyed this from start to finish. The audiobook was included in my subscription so I listened to it on my drive back. I've read other books by the author in the beginning of the year and I really like her humour.

Heat of the Everflame by Penn Cole I finished this long before I was on vacation but didn't have the time to write the actual post about this. Sadly, that makes it a bit harder to write down my thoughts. It had the length of the first two books combined so it took a while to

Glow of the Everflame by Penn Cole I was right and it got better than the first one (which wasn't bad at all btw). I believe Books 3 and 4 will be even better. By the end I got a lot of answers to things I was wondering about but there's still mystery left. A good mix of lifting

Spark of the Everflame by Penn Cole If you've read a few books in your life, you can quickly guess what's up with Diem's heritage. Not a bad thing, and it's well written and takes a while for HER to also get there. Which is logical if you think about it. Our media consumption

The Unmaking of June Farrow by Adrienne Young If you saw my posts in the last days, you might know that I struggled a bit with this. It starts very slow but it felt "natural"; in itself it's not a bad thing. The who murdered whom when and why and the solution to all was nicely
