56. OTAKU: JAPAN'S DATABASE ANIMALS (2001) Seminal and a breezy read for post-structuralist crit rooted in Hegel and Lacan. Fab jumping off point if you've any interest in postmodern theory or anime. Ends on analysis of Yu-No that is one of the most insane things I've ever read.
57. CARRIE (1976) still one of the most bombastically unnerving and tense movies i've ever seen, still one of the most quietly upsetting underneath the glitz. on some days it's my favorite horror film. this is one of those days
