Today, we're diving into a topic that's been bubbling under the surface at conventions for a while: realistic prop weapons. Whether you’re a cosplayer or a frequent con-goer, this is a conversation we need to have. www.youtube.com/watch?v=nO95...

At this point they know what it makes people feel but like the attention and troll clout seeking they get posting videos with them wielding the things around fursuits. Just 4chan brained losers and a dose of conventions that needed to clap down way harder on these fools.
This guy makes me remember the story of the bartender kicking out a n@z1 of his bar to prevent his bar from becoming a n@z1 bar. This guy doesnt belong in our community and if we keep him, will will end up with a fandom fill of 4chan trolls. This has to stop now…
I’d say yes. Absolutely. Prop weapons are fine, but it needs to be obvious that they are just that; props. Carrying around something that could be mistaken for an actual weapon in a public space is just asking for undue trouble and panic.
If you need to use them, keep a safety furry or a safety Naruto nearby to let people know it's a cosplay and clear it with the locals first. And DON'T POINT IT AT BYSTANDERS FFS. This might help prevent that mishap with the Fallout cosplayer Canada had a while back.
I agree that realistic prop weapons should be banned and other props should be checked by con security, but I also think there needs to be a behavioral shift. Once upon a time, edgelords and trolls got banned and ostracized. Nowadays, thanks to social media promotion, you have folks who aspire to it
Realistic weapons should be banned. We are the target of a lot of hate these days so how can you be sure that weapon is not real? Too easy for some psycho to come in with a real weapon with a painted orange tip, calmly find the best place and time for maximum carnage and you have hundreds of DEAD.
Can we first agree that an irredeemably obnoxious Chaiya Raichik associate should not be welcome anywhere before we have the discussion about the details?
I've been to conventions where props are checked and tagged, so I would recommend them tagging all your props for easy identification.
Nope, not even peacebound.
I'm quite tolerant of being around guns, prop or otherwise, but I think I'm willing to say we should have a temporary ban just so that the annoying non-furry edgelords stop coming. Then maybe we can discuss lifting it.
