Went on a walk yesterday evening to clear my mind, will be going to talk to my therapist in a few hours

Starting with what happened just now when asked why I wouldn't wanna have my SO help me shower after I mentioned how difficult it becomes sometimes with all the slipperiness: "real men can clean themselves just fine, they shouldn't depend on someone else"

So this will be a recurring thing here: every time I end up in a situation where the only way I can explain something starts with "real men", I'll write it here in an attempt to understand why I think this way, and now I can make it less toxic.
