'theory and practical'! Excellent. I tried to learn around the same age, and couldn't get past my mum screaming and grabbing the wheel and somewhere along the line I decided I was incompetent and beyond hope. But now I am finding it is actually a lot of fun to learn a new and terrifying thing.

I didn't learn until I was in my early thirties (for a couple of reasons) and was shocked to discover that I actually liked driving.
