Check in with sex workers in your network and see how they are doing. Let’s try to get some press attention on this and some answers from the platform.
Reddit removed adult content from the primary r/all and other suggestion views recently as well, part of an overall trend to suppress adult content supported by govs, advertisers, banks and anti-sexuality non profits.
If so, there may be hope this is a temporary change or press pressure could convince twitter to separate the categories. But it could also be a step towards a full adult content ban.
One theory is this was done quickly to try and prevent violent videos from the Israel/Hamas conflict from spreading on the platform. There is no distinction between “sensitive” content tagging for violence and sexuality on the platform.
My organizing account there is permanently locked to “sensitive” despite not really posting adult content, and there has been a major drop in interactions today. x.com/ashleylatke/...
🚨 Twitter/X NSFW change 🚨 Twitter may have removed NSFW entirely from the primary For You feed. Tested and 11/12 folks asked so far could not see any adult content in For You. This would be a huge problem for sex workers on the platform trying to make rent.

So is anyone primarily here now?
The Kids Online Safety Act would wreck the internet as we know it and cause mass censorship of LGBTQIA+ ppl. Here's a great rundown. This bill could pass in the *next few weeks* so call your senators! https://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2023/08/the-kids-online-safety-act-isnt-all-right-critics-say/
