I met her! She was in the Senate and I was in HS on a trip to DC with a group of teens interested in government. I remember we compared shoe size (she has tiny feet).

I've lived in Kansas all my life and I don't remember hearing about her... To be fair, she left office in 1997 and I was in middle school then. There's a lot I don't remember from that era.
