Some % can be waste (such as biofuel from trap grease) but that can only be small share. And, developments for fuel from invasive (think sargassum to fuel). Most fruitful, long-term path, imo will be EFuels.

1. Well put. 2. There is potential additional: - SAF can be cleaner & better burning fuel (greater power output per CO2 along with other reduced pollutions)

Other than SAF (potentially) offering somewhat greater fuel efficiency (cleaner fuel), of course the CO2 emissions are (about) the same as "traditional" fuel. (Big) Question is the LCA of that fuel -- is it additive (fossil fuel) or 'recycled/reused' (plants, atmospheric CO2, ...) carbon?

As Olympic athletes swelter, scientific attribution shows its extreme temps were virtually impossible w/o human-caused climate change. Lead author @frediotto.bsky.social adds, "If the atmosphere wasn’t overloaded from burning fossil fuels, Paris would have been ~3C cooler and much safer for sport.”

“The bottom line on this whole thing is it doesn’t matter how many thermographers we have, boots on the ground, satellites flying in the air, people with drones and airplanes and all the other technology, none of it matters if you don’t stop methane,” @txsharon.bsky.social said. “None of it counts”

Methane levels in the atmosphere are rising. New satellites could help identify leaks from oil fields, landfills, and animal feed operations.

At some point, it might (MIGHT) break through into the public discussion that agrivoltaic installations can power significantly more vehicle miles per acre with far (FAR) lower pollution loads WHILE offering farmers greater & more reliable income flows.

Variation: require some % of revenue to be paid directly to (near-by) residents, perhaps determine amount based on distance / visual of turbines. Doesn't need to be a lot but if someone can think 'every time the turbine turns, I get 1/10th of a cent' they are more likely to be supportive.
