Case in point: we got a new electric piano yesterday. this took her ~40 mins to learn with me investing *maybe* 7 cumulative minutes of instruction.

Same for guitar/uke. She will be months ahead of many guitar students I've had in the past in a couple hours. But it's almost like it's a passing entertainment. wife you have a KNACK! COME ON the things some people would give for this kind of innate ability lol, myself included.
Anytime I show her a piano tune she insists learning two hands at once. She'll hyperfocus until she has it. Not "hard" songs to a pianist, but to someone whose existing repertoire is "chopsticks" & "heart & soul", and doesn't know where middle C is, not easy!
My wife is unusually good at learning instruments despite having no musical background (other than loving music). I have trouble convincing her of this abnormality. Then she'll get busy and lose interest and have to "start over" every few years. It's confounding.
