#493,677 Not sure that really makes me an elder - there was already a lot of lore about the early days here when I showed up.

Apparently the NYC public schools are the 10th largest CITY in the US. We have 1.1M in our schools. Per Wikipedia (I know, I know, but I have to teach in 6 minutes), Dallas is 9th w 1.3M, and Jacksonville 10th w 985K. Sometimes the scale of things in NYC is bonkers to me.
