Nightshade is out, folks! This is from Ben Zhao and team at Chicago U, the same people who created Glaze. It's is a new way of defending your work from datascraping. tl;dr it poisons data well. Let's gooo Link to V1.0: nightshade.cs.uchicago.edu/downloads.html
If I just post pictures of my cat, and warhammer minis, is that something that would be useful to nightshade as well? Should we basically poison every image we upload, just on the off-chance it gets scraped?
How would this work? I don’t think this will do any damage… Or do you think someone stupid would use it, and then has some hallucinations, then another one uses that and trough that more and more models hallucinate?
This is what happens when both sides refuse to share and are massive dicks to each other.
As an AI art enthusiast I welcome such ideas and find this to be a well reasoned response. The art is being scraped because it's publicly available, making it unappetizing to eat is straight out of the evolution playbook and clever.
It's not "Chicago U" it's "UChicago" the "University of Chicago", no other name. (I realize this is probably futile)
Looks like I can't as I don't have a PC 💔
I didn't find anything on their listed website; do you know if Nightshade is intensive on your computer? My current computer is unable to handle Glaze at current so I've been hand-poisoning my images to my limited ability. And that'll never compare with what a computer can do
This is cool and all but I feel like the anime example has it backwards. it should turn anime INTO cubism.
can you explain what this is for the non tech folk?
i wish ther was a linux or android version
