Knitting question Any recommendations for stitches that create a nice thick warm fabric, but also have some dimensional stability? I made a cowl using fisherman's rib last winter, but it definitely had too much stretch to it. 🧶

Cables will be thick, but less stretchy than fisherman's rib.

So you’re wanting some stitch that will help a cowl stand up straighter, not collapse? Maybe cables worked side-by-side? It may be more the gauge you want to think about than the stitch. But maybe I’m not understanding exactly what you’re wanting.

Double moss stitch? (Maybe seed / double seed depending on what country you’re in). I made a hat in this stitch that’s super warm.

Not exactly a stitch, but double knitting maybe?

I would double knit. That gives a nice firm texture. It won't slouch, at least!

Like a Rosette stitch? www.knitting-bee.com/knitting-sti... You can also do this with different orderings of knits and purls for a slightly different effect. I think I originally saw it with the pattern worked in the right side rows and plain purl rows on the wrong side.
