I also feel like there was a huge push maybe 10 years ago if the attitude “it’s not the pit bull, it’s the owners.” There is *some* truth in the fact that a badly trained pit bull is more dangerous, but it’s still in their genetics to be more aggressive than other breeds.

There still is a push! And dog behavior is complicated. Dogs behave differently on their own than with their owners. They behave differently towards other dogs than they do humans. Pit bull owners probably see a more docile dog than strangers walking by. At what point does it become a problem?
