“I voted blue but things still suck” is a reason to do more than just vote, not a reason to vote for something demonstrably worse (or sit out the chance to keep Demonstrably Worse out of office)

The other guys have been working on what THEY want since approximately Nixon; maybe give it a cycle or two before giving up on democracy.

I would say it's a reason to grow up and realize that many things suck and many things will ALWAYS suck because this is a fallen world. This is not and never has been an excuse to NOT do the things required of you as a citizen and a decent person. Of which voting is one. (A very easy one!)
