Kind of incredible that possibly the only positive thing that historians will credit the Trump administration for ā enabling the rapid development of the covid vaccine ā is something he canāt campaign on without alienating his increasingly antivax base. Just an astonishing level of self-defeat.
Pretty telling when you Google āpositive things accomplished in Trumpās presidencyā and get a short list of things marginally good, but only because the move had the opposite effect as intended. He accidentally bolstered Obamacare while trying to cut it off for Pete sake!
He can't even take full credit because all the heavy lifting was done with a previous coronavirus that was mostly stopped with containment. I wish I'd saved the article on it because I have no recollection of the details.
Seems amazing this was achieved amidst Trumpās seemingly bizarre attempts to profit from the disease by favoring one bunch of cronies vs. another.
I think about this ALL THE TIME.
I also gave him credit for banning bump stocks, and look how well that turned out!
It blows my mind that the Trump administration, in finally giving the funding for mRNA research, did an actually good thing and helped push us into the future with vaccinations and has given us hope for vaccines we thought impossible. And he has to go along with the people who say they're bad.
im no trump supporter but the unemployment insurance (UI) was huge. I had never stopped working before in my LIFE, i worked as a kid, and that period was horrifyng and illuminating. Not everyone got the UI from covid. But i did. And it changed my life for the better. Also i didnt choose armed revolt
And he didnāt really do it. We have Dolly Parton and investment in research years earlier to thank for the vaccine.
Magnificent dick-stepping, sir.
And itās seemingly the main animosity driver of the person who wanted to assassinate him on the golf course!
