Cons of sub-Earth: - Sounds unimpressive - Implies habitability Pros of Mega-Mars: - fun to say and type - implies dead rock, probably correct - NASA will send fifty spacecraft there tomorrow #exoplanets 🔭

Not quite as spiffy as the pictures that other people are posting, but here's a couple shots of comet C/2023 A3 and the moon that I took in the ungodly hours of this morning

The bright nucleus of a comet is seen with a long extending tail centre frame.
There are various towers of the Brisbane skyline, with a waning crescent moon in the background just before sunrise.
The Brisbane skyline is seen with a faintly visible comet tail nearby (to the upper right) in the background sky just before sunrise.

The export citation feature of ADS is currently down for me (and presumably many others). It has never been so over

Gorgeous JWST image of the nebula LHA-120 N79 in the LMC. Processed NIRCam data by @thocarp.bsky.socialwww.flickr.com/photos/19746... 🔭 🧪

NIRCam image of LHA-120 N79, a massive star-forming region located in the Large Magellanic Cloud, a satellite galaxy of the Milky Way. The image showcases a vibrant nebula filled with gas and dust, illuminated by a cluster of young, hot stars. The intricate details reveal filaments, cavities, and pillars of gas, highlighting the active process of star formation. The image also captures the surrounding interstellar medium, including distant stars and other celestial objects

Excited to be going down to CSIRO Sydney this summer to learn how to do radio astronomy! My days of avoiding it are coming to an end
