This is all for functionally the loss of 1, maybe 2% of operating cost, moving busses from heavily subsidized to entirely a public service. There's a lot more to do to make transit here (& in other similar vast, built-for-cars cities) anything like that of say dense eastern metropolises, obviously.

I came into to process for turning a pandemic-era pilot program into permanent zero fare a skeptic, the results here have won me over. It meets the needs of existing busriders best and makes bus trips for everyone else much easier to adopt. Again, it's growing ridership and safety. Headways are next
