In *theory*, time spent on docs is an investment, saving you from having to have the same debugging session with multiple people. If it helps 12 people, it pays for itself! In practice, it gives you something to read to people who won’t look for or read documentation on their own.

Seriously I would spend that time for _1_ person. Theory be damned! I find excruciating to just look at someone fumbling around for 30 minutes on things I could solve in 2. It does not help that that I'm equally clumsy at instructing people what to do in real time.
