After a long hiatus here and on Substack, I have a new article out on the latter: “Russian Naval Activity in the coming months - Possibilities” Here I look at what we might get to see in the coming weeks and months of Russian naval activity. thelookoutn.substack.com/p/russian-na...

The drydock is still in Tuzla shipyards. Moored a few slots a way from where it was set afloat. Centre grey rectangle is the dock.

Further, as an example, look at the reported speeds of the russian tugs (blue quartet) and compare with other ships. It goes up and down constantly, which I believe is low quality data/sensors, not actual speed changes. Might be the same with Polar Bear's 9.5 knot-report... x.com/auonsson/sta...

I do have the data. Can export to proper format and longer if wished for. It is just one single message with this speed. Errors are common in AIS, eg if the ship rolled and the GNSS got a position error of just 330 meters. Further, there are many other explanations. cont..

I dont know, I've seen ships do lots of stupid stuff. Anchor dragging alarms are to my knowledge usually position-based and activated when needed, not some sensor feeling vibrations or something like that. So, off in this case. But, I do agree with you, it just sounds to implausible.

Its C-MAP nautical charts and given pipe owners want to protect pipelines it should be true to actual position, but... An anchor will bounce at those speeds, til it hits something to get stuck on. P41 in this article: ntnuopen.ntnu.no/ntnu-xmlui/b...

I have pondered this one too. Her stern rear looks like some very sturdy structures as well. But it was 2 Nmi past at time of seismic signal. Thats a long line, albeit maybe not unfeasibly long.
