Thatās a hell of a compliment š¤£ 7:36PM - āHey I know that episode!ā *three hours later* 10:19PM - āF*ck you Oka.ā #HorrorWritersChat
I was messaged some photos this afternoon by my brother who happened by the real life antagonist in my book. He felt it fitting to stop and show off the place where the West Grand Haunting began, and how little the exterior has changed by comparison to what you see on the cover. #horrorwriterschat
My goal is to promote the work Iāve done, not so much me (though admittedly this recent work is an autobiographical horrorā¦ but even then, it represents me 34 years ago, not me at age 44).
The market seems designed for a vicious survival cycle. I draw the line there. I wonāt denigrate, eviscerate, or devastate anyone else in my attempt to get my work visible. Iām also not particularly interested in my own reflection, so Iām not going to be posting pointless self aggrandizing content.
ā¦but indie means I still want to gain as much exposure as possible, and Iāve gotten some really awesome reviews. Most of them didnāt transfer over to Amazon, and those that did, only half were verified purchases for my work, and the other half purchased books elsewhere but managed to post a review.
Itās harder to break out on any market. I didnāt self publish, because I never planned on ever writing seriously again. When madhouse picked me up, they were clear that they were a small indie publisher, but that theyād do 98% of all the legworkā¦ and kept 100% to to their promiseā¦
I have seen this in action. My pub had it set up so that all reviews were supposed to transfer over. Then, they didnāt. Then, only SOME of those who purchased copies from other sellers that werenāt Amazon could not leave reviews, while others who purchased copies from B&N, etc, were able.
Today, dear friends and readers I was made aware of some book related news that I hadnāt expected. Mr. Thomas Riddell reviewed my work with more than a flattering review, and it appears to be that thereās a bit more on the horizon. You can check out the review here:
