Technically Zod (that thing) never transformed. It was just an ill-defined bluish-robot animal thing. There WHERE that Pretender Monsters though... who transformed into barely recognizable monster-things plagued with Gold Plastic Syndrome.

He transformed from a non-roaring thing to a roaring thing. Very hard to do. He is very brave. He deserves our respect.
