Donald Trump mused on Sunday about “one really violent day” as an answer to what he has described as a plague of unchecked property crime in U.S. cities. The FBI last week reported a decline in property crime in 2023.
The remarks were the latest example of his praise for executive power and force in imposing order, this time over crimes the F.B.I. said last week were falling.

If you have Prime video (in the UK at least), the 1989 version of The Woman in Black, screenplay by Nigel Kneale, is up to watch now. Highly recommended, for one of the best genuinely scary moments you'll find in all of horror, but beyond that, a beautifully made, compelling, and haunting film.
