It’s not vague and subjective, it clearly means tech firms sacrificing product quality to chase profits. There is no base of normal people who like being shown more ads while also paying more for the service. Literally talk to a normal person for once

However, we are the product not the customer. (Which is not to say product quality is actually being sacrificed.)
