My daughter has played male roles in two of the three HS musical productions she has been in. Although one of those male roles wasn’t a human character so maybe that doesn’t really count lol.

Cross gender casting is incredibly common in HS theater. The high school here doesn’t really even seem to have a policy. They’re just being mean to this student.
