Lol, I found this in my Facebook memories and thought my programming-adjacent friends might appreciate! Behold: the Boo-lean operators!

Six Venn diagrams of two intersecting circles representing different logical operators as orange jack-o-lanterns.

1. Trick OR treat: the lantern face is spread out across both circles, with one eye in each. The outside is empty.

2. Trick AND Treat: the lantern face is squashed into the intersection. Everywhere else is empty.

3. Trick XOR Treat: lantern face across both circles, an eye in each, but the intersection is empty (XOR is the either/or one where it can't be both)

4. Trick NOR treat: the lantern face is all outside the circles, an eye and a bit of mouth on each side. The circles are empty.

5. Trick NAND treat: The whole picture is a stretched-out lantern face, except the empty intersection (this is the opposite of AND)

6. Trick XNOR treat: a very weird lantern face with its eyes outside the circles and its mouth in the intersection. The parts of the circles that don't intersect are empty (the opposite of XOR)

Sooo, if more folk are leaving the other place, is there more theatre here yet? Is there a known order for people adopting a new social media? Furries > writers > ????

Have fallen down the rabbit hole of how space suits got made and HOLY FUCK are there a lot of important women who've been largely left out of NASA's history there.

Yep. Its true. If you are in the UK or Europe the eBook of my novel SHIGIDI AND THE BRASS HEAD OF OBALUFON is available at up to a 70% discount. That means you can get it for just £1 or €1 which is a pretty great deal. www.gollancz.co.uk/titles/wole-...

Just as I was talking about fireworks. I wouldn’t refuse working eyeballs, especially since mine are now bad enough to be concerning, but I do slip my glasses off partway through any firework display.

My favourite part of Come From Away was the band. Once you get an electric guitar and bass, violin and bodhrán on a stage, I start imagining my stage adaptation of Emma Bull’s War for the Oaks again. (It’s so cool in my head because I have no idea what I’m doing in real life)

The less accidental part was me going to Come From Away this evening, but I booked it like a year and a half ago, so people who made the rota at 5pm on Thursday don’t get to complain.

The outside of the New Wimbledon theatre at night. An old (I’m guessing Victorian?) building with its name in red probably-not-actually-neon lights. The audience are walking up stairs and past pillars to a semicircle of doors. There’s a decorative iron balcony above the doors and you can just see the blue and yellow poster for Come From Away to the left of the balcony.
