Deep cut from that era is Cordwainer Smith. If you've not read him already, he's not like anyone else, so wonderfully strange.

Clarke has a few stories that are absolutely foundational (e.g., "The Nine Billion Names of God") but beyond those his short stories are mostly puzzle tales.
