Donald Trump ought to admit that he and his billionaire buddies would bulldoze all of D.C. if they could, clear away all the monuments and institutions and establish a palace more bigly than Ancient Rome for themselves, peasants be damned. Then let's have a referendum on that.
Agreed! This is excellent. Every extended interview with Kamala I've seen or heard makes me more excited about the prospect of her presidency.
It's a beautifully written endorsement—I hope it is widely read. I completely agree that the choice must be about character above all else. To argue about policy differences is largely nonsense.
Trump and Vance are certainly arrogant and undisciplined and, IMHO, ignorant; but I wonder—are they merely following a desperate devious strategy to hold onto their base?
Kamala needs to call MAGA out for the way in which they've inflamed a riotous situation in Springfield. Trump may be afraid to debate her again, but the debate can take place in the public space. The violent rhetoric of the GOP candidates is indefensible. Prosecute them in the public square.

The shooter was a young man of twenty years. He grew up in rural western Pennsylvania—Trump country. Was he confused, frustrated, angry? It appears so. He had access to a military-style semiautomatic rifle—probably shouldn't have, I think it's safe to say. How we respond reveals who we are.
Maybe we should be talking more about the Federalist Society and its takeover of the Supreme Court. If Trump is reinstated these folks will have a field day—might even ask Thomas and Alito to step aside to make room for some young and savagely cunning operatives.
