Seeing a lot of "we can disagree and still be friends" in other necks of the social media woods. Mostly from people who plan to vote Trump, some from liberals with Trumpist family. Honestly though, if you can still support Trump in 2024, you *should* be worried about losing friends over it.

They should have lost all their friends after the 2016 election. And their media enablers well before that.

Cutting off right wing extremists from social circles they frequent seems to be one of the most successful ways of deradicalising or at the very least delousing social groups from encroaching fascists. So naturally certain people want to avoid doing that at all costs because it involves a spine.

You can't be friends with people who don't care about voting in the organization that literally wants to establish Gilead. It's just a complete denial of the consequences of their personal self-centeredness and myopic perspective on society.

That was always true, but all the more so now, after everything we've seen in the last nine years. There's no question left about what kind of person he is or what he plans to do to the country. You're aligning yourself with a movement that's fucking with all our lives and our rights.

I have 11 siblings, at least three of whom I expect to vote for Trump. I can't remove these people from my life. I can fact check the crap my sister says and force her to at least recognize that she needs to reconsider her beliefs. The brothers I simply refuse to discuss politics with at all.
