Exactly. Sometimes the people who make these mods don't like telling people exactly what they changed/removed. Like it COULD be tutorial stuff... or it could be important culture lines or references
The challenge comes more from the fighting than the secrets to be honest. Secrets can net you some gear that changes how fighting can go slightly, but really only one or two items drastically change encounters. The rest are more just for enhancing specific stats/abilities It's more for lore drops
What's weird is Ragnarok's hints are perfectly fine! I played both of the recent God of War games, and they're perfect normal with the hints. I remember looking for secrets and just being absolutely stuck and the game helped out, they do them fairly well.
My issue comes from the elitist attitude many PC players have. They act like they "fixed" or "improved" stuff all the damn time when at best they're removing content they find annoying, but is useful for other people.
Maybe sometimes people need a hint or two, ok?
