Younger folks don’t appreciate that every decade has been a profoundly different experience to grow up in/exist as a queer person. They see the oppression of the Stonewall era and think everything got fixed by the 90’s, and have no clue what it was like to exist in that era.

I hear you. I’m smack dab in the middle of a majorly transitional period, and don’t have a lot I can do to concretely build toward something new yet. It’s a bizarre stagnant place to stand. Takes work to let yourself be optimistic about the future.
