art you enjoy viewing isn't necessarily art you will enjoy making. don't snuff out your original voice to try to be more like somebody else if it doesn't fit your workflow.

YEAH i think the thing that prevents a lot of art blocks for me is that I look at full view art that I like, try to find one thing I wanna learn from it (brush type, theme, composition), and then only compare my art to *my* previous attempts instead of that work. Does wonders to the mind

like eg. semi realistic concept art standard isn't the only "correct" and "desirable" style! take inspiration but do your original spin on it. people will love your work for YOU, it's not "aw man that cake is better", its "oh cool, there's two cakes" from anyone else's POV, never forget that
