In case anybody is wondering, here in the 10:00 a.m. hour here on Tuesday, Facebook apparently screwed the pooch on authentication this morning. Down detector has something like a third of a million reports already.

Possibly as much as 600,000 reports now on down detector. I have an inside report from a Meta correspondent who says they don't think this is Network layer.
