Given the success Sony is seeing on Steam, the only significant outlier is Nintendo…curious if they would consider following Xbox and PlayStation

Looks like Nintendo is having its successful niche corner in the market. Maybe there is no financial need just yet

I feel Nintendo is the only major player who really make a lot of profit on hardware sales. Giving up some that draw, and the steam store cut seems like a bridge too far. There is also an angle where they value games that 'just work', and PC might challenge that. (glad to see you over here)
