More rainy day beauty with a Common Buckeye butterfly. 🦋📷 #insects#nature#wildlife

A dark brownish-gray butterfly with two long white antennae, two bright orange bars on each forewing, numerous 'eyespots' along the outer edge of each wing, and an orange band just above the brown-and-white edging of the hindwings perches with wings almost fully open on the purple bloom of a clover. The wings of the butterfly cover almost the whole flower so that there are only a couple of spots of purple color. The rest of the photo is filled with various shades of green vegetation, most of which is blurry and indistinct.
