It should’ve just been ramped down. Found that out cause I was fact-checking myself on how long it took to recover an MRI magnet from a quench. I doubt it recovers as quickly as the LHC, which can be back up and running in a matter of hours. For one, the MRI needs its helium replaced.

😭😭 That's one thirst that should not be quenched. Really though, and all of that precious helium. They get already annoys the hell out of me when I see it in balloons, but that much of it vented into the air? People don't seem to realize how precious it is (ironic, given its cosmic abundance lol)
