There was an intermediary step in the Obama years. I saw a lot of “it doesn’t matter that it’s not true because I think it’s believable” then. Not too far a leap from today’s “it doesn’t matter what’s true at all.”

It's just a question of objective fact. I mean, it used to be the standard "is your brain functioning properly" question: "can you tell me who the President is?"
I particularly love that I'm almost certain the bosses were like, "just before an election? POTUS is gonna Taft-Hartley us right outta this!" and Biden was "you better start talking your own way out, 'cause I just made some popcorn for this show."
I really don't understand why this has to be said so often. It seems self-evident to me.
