Gosh! We're not thinking about using it for any published materials at all. Communicating on research & policy (& providing health information) has to be accurate & in right tone of voice; nobody thinks AI chat bots are capable of this!

Speaking as a translator? Management absolutely will think AI chat bots are capable of this (apparently not *your* management, which is good). About five years ago, machine translation got kinda-sorta good enough and the bottom fell out of my income because "MT is doing the work".

Apparently there are some scientific journals that are considering it, precisely because they think it will help non-native speakers gain a credibility boosting fluency for their papers. I’m….not impressed.
