Its always stuck with me that they knew who their allies were. Were they completely baffled by a bunch of queers and trans people and squatters and anarchists turning up to defend them? Sure. But did they accept us, and care for us, and love us because we did the same for them? Absolutely. 100%
This is the most threatening aspect of communitarianism to them: we might figure out how much we all have in common with each other, and how little with them.
