Actually, no one ever talks about what it was like, in the weeks and months before the eviction. There are no photos really, for security. There's like no history of this time where 100 odd anarchists lived at the UK's largest Trevellers' site. It was fucking rad as hell. Let me tell you about it:

Today is the 13th Anniversary of the day the Travellers at Dale Farm, at one time the UK's largest static Travellers' site, walked peacefully off the land they owned (and still own) after a nearly year-long siege by bailiffs and cops ended in the most violent "eviction" I've ever experienced.

I got there a month before the eviction. There are others who spent more time there than me, but I think I hold the claim to having spent the longest single period there. I don't think the Travellers realised, when they put out the call for help, the weirdos who were going answer.
