#Authors, how do you feel about trigger/content warnings? Is it a good thing or are do they end up turning into spoilers?

I think it's polite to include a trigger warning on the cover or very start of a book that includes 'traumatic' material. However, the research I looked at seemed to indicate they don't work and might even heighten anxiety responses.
