Ok, 2011 is a little late for this comic. But in the days when DSL was considered "broadband" and thus "fast" graphics would load like that. You'd get a little square and over time, it would fill up with the pic. Like, you wait *minutes* and still only have part of a pic that's 80x80 pixels
