In 5.20 he mentions Laodicea, Apamea and also Cibyra, so I'm assuming I can discount the Laodicea and Apamea that are also close to each other in Syria. Once he moves out of Laodicea he heads to Tasus but that doesn't tell me much

Tarsus, sorry. On the other hand, I also was under the impression he spent much of 50 BCE in Syria, so perhaps I can't.

The letters to Appius in Fam book 3 give details of his arrival and from memory he comes via Laodicea. But this is June 50 - is he already on his departure tour? Someone did an itinerary of his governorship - was it Syme’s article on Cilicia?
