But fetishization is a real problem and it's understandable folks want nothing to do with it, I may disagree with cutting off all folks who use the terms (especially self-referentially) but like. I'm not going to tell someone else what they should tolerate when it comes to fetish and porn terms.

that cuts off so many trans and questioning folks just for exploring and expressing their identities. But I do recognize that fetishization is a problem. Although I think a not insignificant amount of those "cis" people drawn to trans & intersex bodies are potentially trans & intersex themselves.

Yeah I think about this a lot, especially since many folks (not all, I know, but many) who are drawn to these types of characters are some flavour of trans ourselves, and these terms are sometimes what we have gravitated towards. I don't agree with ostracizing everyone who uses the terms because

Yeah I really like altersex, although it is a trans teen I think it could mean multiple things, and frequently it's trans folks identifying with these types of characters'. Altersex is more broad but some of my characters follow not-typical but still altersex body plans. I've seen similar too!

I've been only using "herm" self-referentially in certain spaces with certain people, but I don't want to make those spaces inaccessible to intersex folks, so I am doing it even less. I'd like different terms too. I want a salmacian body though I'm not sure I'll go for it surgically, but I do.

Yeah I don't see it used very much, mostly only as a descriptor label for certain types of bodies, and again, rarely. The trans terms are common though. I like where they're going with them. Altersex is a favourite although it covers a LOT of body variations.

These aren't perfect and I offer them as starting points mostly, because most all of the terms are trans-specific.

It is up to us to coin replacements, most like. I've heard "bigenital", "altersex" is a more broad term from trans community meaning more intersex-like bodies in general but trans (so not just specifically trans bigenital but includes them), a term that is trans equiv of bigenital is salmacian
