Grabbing a copy of Play Nice by @jasonschreier.bsky.social@dannyodwyer.bsky.social on the Noclip podcast. I'm not a huge fan of any Blizzard games, but the whole story sounds truly fascinating. Jason's other books have also been excellent.
And I love the balance of some gated areas requiring unlockables (e.g. keys) and some requiring new abilities (e.g. dash, double jump)
The gating and pacing of Hollow Knight is so perfect 🤌 at any time, I've felt like there's at least 3 things I could explore. There were maybe two times where I started to feel "stuck", but then I'd recall some area, or go around and check some map markers that I'd left and forgotten about.
